It was hard to believe that any next place would top the last pit stop at Zion National Park in Utah and the beauty of Angels Landing hike, but oh were we wrong! The last home stretch of the J♡J cross country road trip brought us through some of the most beautiful places the wild wild west of America has to offer - from scenic roads curving around edges to top of mountains, to geysers and amazing wildlife - together, we ventured through the beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park in complete awe.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming - we are arrived late night, skin still burned from hiking at Zion and were met by cold, rainy and even snowy weather of Jackson Hole, WY. Desert life was long gone and we were now in mountain country of the wild wild west.  Since we were amidst the wild west, we splurged on an ultimate steakhouse and ended the night with wine and ice-cream back at the motel since I had only packed clothes with the hot Las Vegas desert weather in mind. As we passed through downtown Jackson Hole the following morning, we promised ourselves that this place deserved a follow up trip hopefully one day soon...

Yellowstone National Park - the drive from Jackson Hole to Yellowstone was absolutely stunning with fog covered mountain tops to sleepy landscapes where stubborn winter snow cover could still be seen lingering even in late May. We reached the beautiful land of Yellowstone and buffalo country where for the first time I got to see buffalo just mere feet away, geysers, waterfalls, and beautiful crystal blue lakes and mountainous backdrops. Since Yellowstone's founding as the world's first national park on March 1, 1872, it has since evolved into a complex land of conservation and enjoyment for those who get a chance to reach it. Many tribes and bands once called this land their home, prior to the arrival of European Americans in the early 1800s.

It has been four summer months since this road trip took place and looking back on the photos, I feel incredibly lucky and fortunate to have seen some of the beauty America has to offer with my best friend and partner in crime. After a thrilling five days on the road, the #LAStoMSP cross country road trip concluded back in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a cold beer and a welcoming Lake Calhoun sunset on a perfect summer night. Needless to say, it was good to be home….
