Jason's and I relationship has never followed the traditional route since the day we met. From the first 5 dates in various cities around the U.S. to tattoos (my first one) with our initials even before engagement and to our first home purchase before marriage. That is why after we got engaged in Summer of 2016 and once we started thinking about our wedding plans for the following summer of 2017, "traditional" just never felt right or quite 'us'. We knew we wanted something simple, elegant and most importantly have the focus be on our love and commitment to each other. One evening we made the impulsive decision to scrap the wedding plans and elope with only our immediate family in attendance. We picked a date to coincide with the weekend of our housewarming party, so we could make a suprise announcement in front of our friends and family. Our two families were all on board with our whim of a moment idea. We only had a few weeks to get everything together from finding the elopement and dinner venue to flowers, attire, judge, marriage license, photographer, etc. As we started to call around everything came together seamlessly, which we took as a sign that eloping is the ideal way to go. The hardest part we thought was going to be finding a wedding dress in such a short amount of time, but luckily I found the perfect one online that only required a few minor alterations. The other most important aspect was finding the right photographer who understood our vision and could capture our love in a candid yet romantic way and we were extremely lucky to have found exactly that in Rochelle Louise Photography. 2 December 2016 J♡J |
