October 26, 2019. 92 days old.
When I was pregnant, my favorite part of the week was Saturday morning when after breakfast, we would sit down with coffee and treats and read out loud all about Baby V’s weekly updates. Then Jason and I would fantasize all about our little girl being here with us and now she is here! And today she is 3 months old!
So what’s new this month?
We are definitely noticing that her movements are becoming more smooth and coordinated, unlike before. She intertwines her little fingers or holds them together while she is eating or sucking on her pacifier and is lifting her legs up and holding her knees with her little hands. Speaking of pacifiers, Jason finally got her to take it and OMG what a difference it has made. Now, she can fall asleep with the pacifier and we no longer have to bounce her on the bouncy ball for hours on end. Jason is ready to burn that thing to the ground ha! This month, our Vesnic also had her first cold thanks to me. Our furnace broke down when it got a little cold and as my Bosnian blood would have it, I get sick at a first sign of cold air or temperature drop. She was pretty stuffy and we had to use the Nose Frida for the first time. It was so tough to watch her in any pain or discomfort, but our girl powered through and kept her smiley face on.
Vesna is also a lot more attentive this month and follows us around the room with her eyes and ohhh her smiles. We’ve been taking her to music classes at MacPhail on Saturday mornings and even when she is sleepy, she still gets into it and stares at the teacher the whole time. Then she takes a long nap after while we do our shopping at downtown Whole Foods or go for a stroll. Our weekends look a lot different nowadays and I haven’t had a drink in who knows how long other than the slightly spiked cider last night. I tried to have a beer after and gave up after a few sips. Happiness is now going to bed by 10pm on the weekends and getting up early for fun activities with our girl and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
We are so lucky that we have one happy baby and there isn’t much that she dislikes…other than the bottle, but she is warming up to it. I went back to work last week (which I wrote about in my earlier post) and she did well with my parents. She took the bottle but only about 2 ounces at a time. I FaceTime with her while I pump and she just talks away on the phone. Hopefully, she will continue to be our chunky little dunda. The day after she turned 3 months, we were doing tummy time and she raised her head up so high and steady and held it for the longest time. It came out of nowhere. Her legs are getting stronger and she keeps trying to push off with them. When we have her laying down on our thighs facing us, she keeps trying to get up or do crunches as we call it. This girl is ready to get up and go!
